Hi all, I received a set of Otto gaskets for my MKII Square. The gaskets came with a sheet showing tightening sequence, but said recommended torque values were on a separate sheet for the MKII which I did not receive. Can anyone help me with what Bruce Longman in recommending for the installation?
Thanks,
Ike Winchell

Re: Otto gasket torque values on MkII
Hi Ike,
I've installed these on my MKII. I followed the settings shown for the Otto's on the Draganfly website (and as confirmed by Paul Ackerman). Note final torque for some of the studs is only 10 ft/lbs.
Here's the link that shows both torque sequence and value:
https://www.draganfly.co.uk/ariel/4-str ... nd-1953-58
At Paul's suggestion, my initial "run-in" was just 5 minutes static at low to medium rpm. Then it was time for the first retorqueing. I was surprised how loose several of the nuts were after that short time.
Then it was 4 additional torque within the first 500 miles or so. A bit of a PITA, but I think well worth it. My engine runs great and has negligible oil leakage. In fact, I'm gonna take the old gal for a ride right now!

Thanks Phil!! I went to the wrong spot on the Draganfly site and missed the chart you led me to. I'm hoping that this installation results will be as good as yours.
Re: Otto gasket torque values on MkII
I am assuming that there is no right side up on the gaskets? I have found nothing marked on the gaskets, or any reference on the instructions.

Sorry, I just can't remember. I do believe they say don't use any gasket spray.
BTW, you can expect your new engine to smoke, belch, and leak like a mother on first run. Don't be alarmed.. just stick to very short runs and rides until everything beds in, and you'll be just fine@
