I got this head with a bunch of ariel parts. I was told it was a 1938 1000cc head but i don't know what it is. The rocker box is one I have never seen. The head and rocker box are separable. Any ideas? The rocker box has number 1027 and it looks like the head number is NG 15474. I can take and post more pictures if that will help! Thanks.

Yes, 1938 works for dating and it is from a 4G overhead cam square 4 it appears. Nice find and looks in decent shape. I have such an engine but have not found a frame yet over here in North America. Too many projects to be looking hard right now, have to get the SG31 550cc and the 1937 VH going first.
